Scene 1: At the sides of the wide street grow tall coconut tree, paper tree and some bananas.  At the wide street runs a red Mercedes Benz slowly.
Angel: (on the phone) Sir, can you move me to another place, I really cannot stay here in Bangued for a long time. Sir, my morning here is always mourning, as in M-O-U-R-N-I-N-G.
Phone: Why? Don’t you love your job there? Look its every month that you transfer from place to place. Isn’t it good that you will stay there for at least a year?
Angel: Oh yeah! I do love my job at Valera Medical Hospital. But you know, I really hate it when in every kilometer, there’s always a checkpoint and it makes me feel nervous when they point their riffles on my car.
(off and drop the phone)
I understand, the militars are securing the safeness of the place but I feel like it’s a threat for me. (phone rings again)
Oh! Nurse Marian, do you have something to say?
Marian: Yes, Doc, because we have a new patient, fresh from Tubo.
Angel: Really? Can you give me some details of her, please?
Marian: Doc, you are really in need here because she cannot breathe normally at this time. According to her medical history, a tumor had grown near the uterus and she had a history of ovarian cancer. She undergone chemotherapy at Baguio General Hospital and discharged last month. Her name is Kristine Palangdosan, 25 years old.
Angel: Ok, did you already insert the Intravenous?
Marian: Done Doc, we really need your supervision here.
Angel: Am on my way.
(Angel exits)
Scene II. At the Junction, Center of the city. Red Light going to the east and Green Light going south. James is in his black BMW.
James: Bro, can you just step on the gas, in fact there’s no car passing by. Look, we are almost late with        our meeting with Mayor.
Driver: Sir, It’s still red, we can still wait for seconds and we will be moving.
James: Look! There’s no car passing, just do what I said.
(screeeechhhhh….)
Angel: shit!
(moves out of  the car and tap hardly the front of the BMW)
Can’t you see that it is still green or you are just so stupid driver? Heck!
(Driver moves out of the car)
Driver: Ma’am, we’re so sorry, we are just in a hurry with my boss.
Angel: if you are in hurry, I am in a hurry too. And look what just happened. It’s almost…, gush, you almost hit my car. Can’t you read street signs, or you are really stupid?
Driver: I am so sorry Ma’am.
Angel: It’s good… It’s good I step on the brake so fast or else we both are in hospital right now. Tell your         boss that sometimes, she or he must know how to abide with street rules and regulation.
(James moves out of the car)
James: Miss, your name could be Summer?
Angel: Are you the boss?
James: Oh, yes, can you answer my question?
Angel: crappp….. gush, spoiled hunk
James: Miss, just answer my question with Why. Summer is your name right?
Angel: Duhh! You still have the guts to ask me such question, I said NO
James: Please, answer me with WHY.
Angel: Ok! WHY? If only you have no stunning face, I would have spanked you a while ago.
James: because, you know what, you’re so hot.
Angel: Gago, You know a lot of things like that. Hoy! You cannot get me with that joke. If you don’t mind me saying that if the police station is near from here, I would really like to demand you.
James: Oppss, don’t panic, cool down. You will be like my grandmother if you would always be shouting. Besides, I am a lawyer and I can defend myself. Look, am in a hurry because my appointment with the mayor is very important than yours. So if you don’t mind, let us go then because we are late.
Angel: Who cares if you’re the Mayor’s lawyer or you’re working with the mayor. If you are rushing          because of your appointment, me too, I have patients to attend and help. Besides, who did        crash the rules? Isn’t it, that you. Driver, move your car now because we caused so much traffic here.
(All characters exit)

Scene III: Hospital. The room is private, flowers and fruits were at the table beside the bed. Kristine, the patient is lying in her bed.
(enters Angel and Marian)
Angel: So, how’s the patient?
Marian: Ma’am, she did not yet wake up.
Angel: Did you take a sample of her blood and her urine?
Marian: Not yet Doc.
Angel: (check the pulse, the heart beat and take some blood samples from Kristine’s arm and urine sample from her urinary bag) Marian, please bring this samples in the laboratory, thank you.
(Marian exits, James Enter)
James: Doc, so how is she?
Angel: familiar voice. (backing James) I just took the blood and urine samples and I hope that results would always be fine. Are you her…
James and Angel: You?
Angel: Yes and why are you here? Is she your sister? A cousin? A batchmate? Or?
James: She’s my girlfriend.
Angel: See, girlfriend…, so who then has more important appointment then? Me who is rushing for the sake of your girlfriend or you for the sake of the Mayor?
James: Am sorry, my mom called me when I am at the mayor’s office.
Angel: You left the mayor?
James: I have no choice; I love her so much more than my job.
Angel: Well, I hope your mayor will understand you. She’s beautiful.
James: Lovely and charming. She’s a fighter; she undergoes all the chemotherapy stages in Baguio before the doctor said she can go home. I thought everything is fine, all she need is just recovery but look she’s still there, fighting, trying but I know she’s doing well.
Angel: We will do our best Attorney…
James: James.. James Emilio.
Angel: oh, Angel Diego.
(everyone exits except Kristine still lying in the bed)

Scene IV: Cristine’s room.
Angel: I will tell you frankly, there are no more choices for us other than chemotherapy. The cancer cell was not yet removed by the last chemotherapy and it spread so fast. One more thing is that, we cannot remove the tumor in your uterus using the process of another chemotherapy since you just undergone it a month ago. Your body will resist it, am telling you this. You don’t have enough strength to hold on the chemotherapy’s side effects. So am suggesting, please strengthen and gain more strength before we will pursue with the last chemotherapy.
(Angel exits)
James: DOCTOR, NURSE, WE NEED YOU HERE.
(Angel and four nurses enter)
Cristine: I…… ca…nnnn….tttt.t… do... it……. aaannnyyyymmmoooorrrrreeee…
James: Please, oh Lord, please. Help us.
Angel: nurse, hold her hands, fast.
James: Do everything that you can, please.
Marian: Sir, don’t panic. We’re doing everything that we can.
James: Cristine… NOoooooOOooooo..
(Kristine’s hands slowly become so relax)
Angel: (shake her head slowly) She’s gone.
James: No, she’s alive. You’re a doctor and you can cure her. Tell me.
Angel: No more… no more fighting.
James: You’re so poor… a poor doctor Angel. You are the reason why she’s gone, if you did not tell her that there’s no more chance, she should’ve been breathing until now.  You’re nothing but an untrusted doctor, a doctor who cannot cure anyone, a doctor who kills her patient.

Scene V: At Banao Quadrangle, Angel is sitting in the bench while watching the kids playing basketball.
James: Hai!
Angel: How did you know I am here?
James: Your mom told me that your fun playing with the children here at school quadrangle.
Angel: I mean, how did you know I am from here?
James: oh! Marian told me you resigned and went home here at Banao, Bauko.
Angel: How dare you show your face to me after you left me with such words?
James: Am sorry, I just really cannot accept that she’s gone that time.
Angel: And you blame me? That’s it?
James: I am very sorry for such pain I left you, for such word I uttered to you.
Angel: You know, you can utter every bad word to me, you can bullshit me, and you can damn me, but please not to insult and blame me. Blaming me for an act of unfortunate and unlucky day triggers my anger. Look, I had been to a lot of places as a volunteer, from Bontoc, Banaue, Apayao,  Tabuk to Bangued, and I heard most from my  patient’s relative no compliment and no one had ever said to “thank you” to me rather, you know what I hear from them? The same as what you had uttered before? They blame me for the loss of their relative and none of them had ever said sorry to me.
James: Angel, for me? What will I do just for you to forgive me? Hurt me if that’s the way you will forgive me.
Angel: James, three months ago, I met this hunky man in the crossroad, and his tamed face was like craved in my head. Every day and night, I always think of him. I had dreamt of him one night, he is proposing to me, smiling and willing but my in my face is marked with anger; anger that seems cannot be erased anymore.
James: Three months ago also, I had a girlfriend. She is beautiful, lovely and charming. I loved her, I cared for her and I gave her everything she needs but then she lied to me. One day, she told me that she is ok and she has no problem with her sickness anymore. I went to the city to continue my work as a lawyer when one day, I met this girl in the center with her red car. This girl is a goddess, mysterious and so fascinating. Not knowing, she becomes a doctor of my girlfriend. One day, my girlfriend breathes no more wherein I put a scar on the heart of that doctor. I totally cannot forgive myself on saying the words that I know hurt her so much. (kneels) And now, I am kneeling down and asking for your forgiveness, please?
Angel: Please, no kneeling. That’s so awkward. James, stand up or else.
James: I won’t until you will forgive me.
Angel: ok, if God forgives us, then I will forgive you too. Up now.
James: Angel, I still have one request,
Angel: What?
James: Can you cure my heart?
Angel: Sorry I am not a Cardiologist.
James: If not, can you fill in the gaps in my heart?
Angel: What do you mean?
James: I cannot marry a soul.
Angel: Funny
James: Angel, I am serious.
Angel: Well, ready yourself to take the challenge of my four big brothers.
James: I’d already talked to them with your father.

Angel: so what are we waiting for? Let’s go.

DR. POLMAN

To Dr. PolMan,
The antidote, where is the antidote?
you promised everything gently.
the cancer had caused many lives
Confused, starting and some are ending.

The antidote, where is the antidote?
Those children can't you see?
Know nothing of where to find
‘Here’, ‘there’, ‘here’, ‘there’ caused their fight.

HAI

Omnibus

       Knitted perfectly

           To reminisce the

               Moment labored

                 When I am up and

                     When I am down.

The A House

The A house

The beauty of hays and firm of pines
Crafted together by the community’s hands

It sheltered three ages
With joy or pain
With calm and security.

From the dangerous storms
It didn’t even make a bend.
From the ground breaking intensities
It didn’t even make a gap.

The Ugly Truth

                                           The Ugly Truth
The big buildings-malls, markets, universities, but not to mention small but scattered nightclubs around the city sound rich and light. The parks, caves, mountains, manmade shrines and sculptures and other sceneries around the cities do paint a picture perfect of the place. However, to tell the truth about painting is to tell its whole side. Behind the pictures of buildings and parks are shadows of crowd; behind the hills and mountains are houses, trafficked cars and other industrial things. And behind those empty spaces around are smog and unwanted air.
Certainly, urbanization offers so many opportunities to citizens. Those gigantic and almost high rocketing malls offer jobs to people. They sell goods and services which many tourist and citizen themselves are interested in. Not to mention many universities that offer academic advancement and excellence and professional growth to both Filipinos and to foreign students. Furthermore, families and friends get to bond and greet each other, credit to the parks and other recreational places. And still the innovation of hot spots encourages and arouses many people to visit the place which gives the place a pride.
Over the past years, people in the rural areas leave their agricultural lands in exchange of the promises of urban life. They think of the chances of having a better life in the city because there are lots of establishments that will offer jobs and services.  But little did they know, they are left to do the dirty and low salary jobs, or yet, exchanging jobs in search for something that could suffice their wants.
Even though there are lots of businesses in the cities, if they can’t accommodate the increasing number of people, there will be an inadequacy of services and jobs that is offered, therefore, the unemployment rate will increase too.
Its a little bit cliché, but one more problem concerning uncontrollable urbanization in the cities is on the environmental concerns that affect the health of every individual. Many transportation tools will be purchased, factories and establishments will be built that give jobs to people but alongside contribute pollution not only in air but also on land and water. Cars and factories use engines and fuels that when burned, it will produce vast amount of carbon monoxide in the air that when even plants and people inhale it will trigger their respiratory system.
Urbanization of cities requires higher responsibility especially to the government officials who are expected to rule and to lead. But as a citizen who live the same city or yet world, the only thing to do is to follow every law set by officials such as the use of paper bags instead of cellophanes when purchasing dry goods. Cars must have to use the proper fuels that have light smokes. In simple word, urban places doesn’t give us everything that we need, sometimes our life in rural areas that we are used to can at least give us everything that we want.

The Burden

The Burden

There once a family, well-off and rich

Hectares of land, they ought to till
Grains, corns and more they harvest
Feasted by clan a day to fit

Just as the second child feels some pain
Signs so severe occurred the other days
He cannot stand, at bed he lays
like as his father who passed away

the white haired man said they did not pray
and ask their Father to eat with thee
For joy they had and drinks yesterday
The second child had cause the pay

Five siblings are they and tears dismay
Unknown to them the cause he say
For their father leave no words so free
Now nothing they know and ask to plea

The old man came in a sunny day
And ask the siblings, pigs are the pay
Four siblings are they said yes to thee
Just as their brother go out astray

The day had come, black big they butch
And shock to see the bile mismatch
Another pig, the old man asked
Siblings can't move but to do the task

Second, third up to the seventh did not made of such
A perfect bile no more to catch
The siblings' pocket were out of stock
Where to and wherefore would they to ask

Eighth pig it is came out from debt
From the neighbor village who tend to help
Finally the bile that take too much
The ritual continues and prays the gods

Some were drunk and fast asleep
Some are laughing and loud to speak
One group are fighting not knowing the case
The reason for the rite was likely forgotten

The second child woke up one day
After a month in bed he laid
The rite was done three weeks ago
And now he's fine, able and strong

Five siblings are they, till the land so fast
Working under the sun to earn a lot
The debt they owe, they need to pay
Or else their land will run to thee
